Dr. Dinesh Giri MBBS, FRCPCH, MD (Research), MSc (genomics) is a Consultant in Paediatric Endocrinology, Diabetes and Childhood Obesity at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He completed his clinical training and his doctorate research (MD) from Liverpool. His research was on the genetics of rare endocrine disorders. Dr. Giri also has a master’s degree in genomic medicine.
Dr. Giri has a wide range of experience in managing a variety of childhood endocrine(hormone) disorders such as growth, thyroid, pituitary, puberty, adrenals, etc. His main interest is in childhood obesity and has a breadth of experience by working in one of the leading childhood obesity NHS clinics in the UK. He leads multi-disciplinary weight management clinics that manage children and young people with complex and severe obesity. He is also the principal investigator for an ongoing clinical research trial in childhood obesity.
Dr. Giri has also authored a number of peer-reviewed publications and has presented at various national and international conferences. He is also actively involved in regular undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
